Salt Lake City & The Wasatch Front
Direct Primary Care in Salt Lake City, Utah
Personalized Healthcare Without the Hassle
Summit Direct Health Care is a direct primary care practice serving Salt Lake City and the Wasatch Front. One flat monthly fee gives you unlimited visits, same-day access, and a doctor who actually knows your name, with no copays, no claims, and no gatekeepers.
Traditional healthcare runs on insurance billing, which means short visits, long waits, and a bill you can't predict. We removed the insurance company from the exam room entirely. What's left is the part that works: time with your doctor, transparent pricing, and personalized care from the physician managing your health.
The Model
What Is Direct Primary Care?
Direct primary care (DPC) is a healthcare model in which you pay a membership fee directly to your doctor instead of routing every routine visit through health insurance. In exchange, you get unlimited primary care services and a direct primary care doctor you can reach without a phone tree in the way.
Because our DPC practice doesn't bill insurance for office visits, there's no coding, no prior authorization, and no denial letter three weeks later. That overhead is roughly where a conventional clinic's time goes, and it's why the average appointment there runs seven minutes. Ours run 30 to 60.
Unlike concierge medicine, which typically charges a steep annual retainer on top of insurance, a direct primary care membership is priced for ordinary households. Concierge care is a premium tier. DPC is simply primary care without the middleman: the same physician relationship, at a price a working household can carry.
- Seven minute appointments built around billing codes
- Copays, claims, and a bill you cannot predict
- Phone trees, gatekeepers, and weeks of waiting
- A few thousand patients per provider
- Visits that run 30 to 60 minutes
- One flat monthly fee, published up front
- Text, call, or email your physician directly
- A few hundred patients, so every slot is real
Three Simple Steps
How Does Direct Primary Care Work?
Three steps, and there's no fine print underneath them.
You pay a flat monthly membership fee
No copays, no per-visit charges, no year-end surprise. Every level of membership pricing is published before you join.
You get unlimited access to your DPC physician
Office visits, telehealth, text, phone, and email, as often as you need.
You keep insurance for the big stuff
Hospitalization, surgery, and specialist visits still run through your plan.
That's the whole direct primary care model. The simplicity is the point.

Why Salt Lake City Patients Choose Summit
Transparent Pricing
One membership fee covers nearly everything a doctor handles day to day. Anything with an added cost gets quoted before it happens.
Real Time With Your Physician
Thirty to sixty minutes per visit. Your doctor has room to ask the second and third question, the ones that usually find the actual problem.
DPC Direct Access, 24/7
Text, call, or email your doctor without a gatekeeper. Most concerns get resolved the same day, often without a trip in.
Wholesale Labs and Medications
Basic lab work and common prescriptions at near-cost pricing, frequently a fraction of what an insurance plan would leave you owing.
Care Coordination Included
When you need specialty care, your doctor makes the referral, sends the records, and follows up. You're not left managing it from a call log.
Works Alongside Your Coverage
Most of our members pair a membership with a high-deductible plan, a health share, or exchange coverage. Many use a health savings account for the monthly fee.
Membership
What's Included in Your Membership
Our DPC clinic delivers ongoing primary care built on continuity: the same primary care provider, every visit, tracking your history over years instead of meeting a patient cold. DPC patients get medical care from someone who remembers the last conversation.
- Unlimited office visits with no visit fee
- Comprehensive physicals and wellness visits
- Preventive care and annual screenings
- Chronic disease management for diabetes, hypertension, thyroid conditions, and more
- Same-day treatment for illness and minor injuries, the reason behind most urgent care visits
- Basic labs and diagnostic testing at wholesale pricing
- Direct communication with your doctor by phone, text, or email
- Referrals and care coordination when specialist care is warranted
Built For Your Schedule
Salt Lake City Runs on Access
Whether you're skinning up Millcreek before work, putting in hours downtown, or raising kids in Sugar House, healthcare should fit the schedule you actually keep. A model that requires three weeks' notice for a fifteen-minute appointment does not.
Our patients text their doctor from a trailhead and get an answer. A patient with a fever can come in that same afternoon. That level of patient care isn't a luxury feature. It's what happens when a provider carries a few hundred patients instead of a few thousand, and every patient gets a real slot instead of a squeeze-in.
The direct primary care model has been recognized by the American Academy of Family Physicians and tracked nationally by the Direct Primary Care Coalition as one of the fastest-growing approaches in medicine. Salt Lake City employers are adopting DPC memberships into benefits packages for the same reason: better outcomes at a lower total spend.
Coverage
Direct Primary Care and Your Insurance
Direct primary care is not health insurance, and we won't pretend otherwise. It replaces the routine layer (the doctor visits, the checkups, the chronic care), not the catastrophic layer.
For hospitalization and specialists
Keep a health insurance plan for hospitalization, surgery, imaging, emergencies, and specialist visits.
Cover more, for less
Pair it with a Summit membership and you generally cover more, for less, than a low-deductible plan does alone. Medicare patients are welcome as well; we simply don't bill Medicare for membership services.
Every fee published up front
Every fee is published up front. Nothing gets added to your bill without a conversation first.
